Is Botox Safe and Right for Me? How We’re Using Botox in 2018.
Botox is often the treatment that comes to mind when people think about targeting their lines and wrinkles of the upper face, and while Botox injections did begin that way, it’s actually become a treatment for use throughout the face that has proven incredibly effective for multiple concerns.
Botox acts by interrupting contraction of the muscles in the face that cause lines and wrinkles, so it’s a very effective “relaxer” to prevent wrinkles from forming.
An effective and trending use for Botox in 2018 is in moderation or what you may have seen mentioned as “Baby Botox”. This is something we’re seeing women in their late twenties or early thirties exploring more often. This approach is an effective way to reduce the amount of Botox that is used by hyper targeting areas where it is needed. It also works well when in combination with fillers, such as those made from hyaluronic acid, so that the overall effects are more subtle and natural looking. Working in moderation also allows us to help patients on a gradual basis, to ensure that they achieve results they feel comfortable with.
We’re currently seeing a trend with procedures that are directed at encouraging our patients to embrace their own unique aesthetic and this is something that we’re really happy about - particularly when a patient can see a difference with a more minimalist approach. This definitely applies to the way we’re using Botox today.
